by now has become a household name-since she undeniably is the pioneer in
Pret wear and Block prints. She initially commented her Pret line in 1983.Fabric in unusual and modern color combination and svelte cuts were an instant hit.
Going back in years – onwards in 1985 FQ was one of the designer who diligently worked hard and had several exhibition-local and abroad. Her accomplishment gave her an edge above others-due to qualitative ensembles with immaculate Screen prints, hand Block prints pure silk in discharge colors.
Her Block prints were totally amazing and the color vivid + bright. She never compromised on quality, which is the reason why her exhibition in countries like India, England and USA were huge successes. Adding to her credentials, she was associated with the prestigious Export Promotion Bureau and FPCCI.
Under these banners, her worked was displayed at places in Dubai, Kuwait, Bombay, Delhi, Toronto and London.
FQ designs her outfits in tradional patterns with hues of the west-making then a fusion which appears beautiful as well as glamorous.
Her Saris are a class apart-in Block prints of Cheetah prints, Peacock prints and Egyptians, Greek,Gothic, Calligraphy set in vivid hues and also becoming her forte.
Her range contrasts from pastels of very rich basalts and shades of silk contraption In shimmering reds, bronzes, burnt or hues and of course Black. With her Block printed saris-her heavily embroidered blouses-turns out to be stunning.
On her Bridal range-for Mayan, Mendi, Baraat + Valima. Each apparel in stylish and makes a statement. She mixes fabric like Jamawar and Block printed silks in Farshi lehngas with heavily embroidered shirts in ornate embroidery heavy gold braiding – to match our rich heritage.
FQ has won accolades on different occasions and walked away with huge carvel’s for her serves in the Fashion arena.
Farida Qureshi Has been an active Founder member of Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Karachi (South).Sindh and Lahore. She’s involved in all the relevant meeting of FPCCI.
She was awarded WCCI Lahore-an achievement award named “Faunals Of 2009” and has also won several other merit certificates to her credits.
